EU citizens’ rights: Update from government on settled status In November 2017 the Home Office and the Department for Exiting the European Union provided new details on how its “new settled status scheme will operate”. The guidance states that “Those applying to stay in the UK without we leave the EU will not have their applications refused on minor technicalities and caseworkers considering applications will exercise discretion where appropriate.
