Baroness Sal Brinton was awarded an honorary PhD in 2003 for her contribution to education, skills and learning by Anglia Ruskin University. She was moreover made a Fellow of Birkbeck, University of London. Trustees Chairperson Joe Browne Joe is a human rights lawyer who has been working and living in London since 1995. He has many years wits working in the Not for Profit sector both as a project worker and in management and governance. He is a trustee of a number of charities and moreover sits on the various newsy boards working with the Irish diaspora in Britain and virtually the world. He has many years wits working with the TravellerPolityin London and throughout the UK. He is a well seasoned campaigner of Traveller rights and has been very involved in a number of national campaigns including the Dale Farm Campaign. He is one of the founding members of the Traveller Movement. Vice Chairperson Ms Breda Mahoney Breda Mahoney is a self employed trader and a long standing polity member on TM’s Board. She has unsalaried a Gypsy Traveller dimension to national and local service planners and providers; has been a polity speaker at related Conferences and events; and a leader in TM capacity-building initiatives. Breda is moreover a member of the NTAG. Treasurer Mr Brian Foster Brian has UK and international wits of working in projects to raise the social and educational victory of Gypsy Roma Traveller communities. He has unsalaried to Government publications and research and is an experienced consultant and trainer. Brian is chair of theNewsyCommittee on the Education of Romanies and other Travellers (ACERT). Secretary Mr Michael Ridge* Michael currently practices as a statutory sector Social Worker with Gypsy and Traveller communities and he has worked in this zone since 2000, developing a culturally competent Gypsy TravellerPolitySocial Work service wordage model in that time. Michael moreover is an Art Therapist (Postgraduate Diploma in Art Therapy University of Hertfordshire 1989) and a Social Worker (Diploma in Social Work and MA in Social Work Metropolitan University 1999) and moreover has a 1983 BA stratum in Politics from York University. *Michael passed yonder in July this year. Read a tribute to his life in the Traveller Times here. Rest in peace. Ms Pauline Anderson Pauline is an Irish Traveller but has led a settled life mainly in Yorkshire. Her current role is Service Director of Learning and Skills at Derby Council and was teh former Head of Service for Primary Schools at SheffieldMunicipalityCouncil, stuff responsible for primary standards in all three Key Stages wideness the city. She leads 3 teams of resurgence professionals. She is moreover Chair of the New Arrivals (including Roma) Steering Group for theMunicipalityWide Learning Body which is a navigate directorate group seeking to support schools to modernize outcomes for pupils. Pauline is moreover a member of our NTAG. Mr Martin Howe Martin has over 30 years wits working as a solicitor in particular specialising in social justice cases. He is owner and senior partner of Howe & Co Solicitors based in London of which Martin ripened Howe & Co to wilt a recognised leading litigation and human rights whistle-stop firm with a national and international reputation for upper matriculation work fighting for the underdog. Dr Aileen Kitching Aileen is a medical doctor. She has previously worked as a GP and hospital doctor in Ireland, Scotland, Australia, and Africa, and currently works as a public health doctor in the U.K., primarily in the areas of health protection, immunisation and infectious diseases. She is based at Public Health England. Mr Mark Watson Mark was a Cheshire Police Officer for 30 years prior to his retirement in November 2012. He served in a variety of roles throughout the county as a Constable, Sergeant and finally as an Inspector. In recent years he worked closely with severalPolitySafety / Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnerships and was Head of Equality, Diversity and Human Rights for Cheshire Constabulary from September 2008 until his retirement. During his career Mark and his team won awards for “Outstanding Commitment to Diversity” and “Partnership of the Year: Best example of joint work wideness the criminal justice system” at the Criminal Justice System’s National Justice Awards. Mrs Bridget McCarthy Bridget is an Irish Traveller and a long term supporter and friend of the charity. She is a well seasoned polity objector in her local zone and has won the polity victory ribbon for her tireless work on Gypsy, Traveller and Roma polity projects. Bridget moreover sits on the Traveller Movement PolicyNewsyGroup and has been a key freelancer at the organisation’s yearly national conference, delivering cultural diversity training to local authorities and participating in key meetings with policy makers.
